Will he outgrow this??

Ok mommies out there, my lil Boppers right foot turns in real bad. It has also turned in but here recently, he has started tripping over them more and more. He will be 2 in July and some people have said that he will out grow it but I am very worried. (yes I am a very paranoid 1st time parent)

People are starting to ask us about his little feet being turned in so bad. I want to correct this before he gets to old. One person told us to buy him high top Stride Rite shoes and the others have told us to let him run barefoot. I dont know what to do or am I just being paranoid????

  1. Are they turned in..as in pigeon toed? I spent several years as a child wearing my shoes on the wrong feet. It was just enough resistance to persuade my feet to align correctly. I still tend to wear out the insides of my soles faster and if I'm real tired you may notice that my feet turn in..but it took care of it for me. I obviously would ask the pediatrician....but it's an option to consider. Good Luck!

  2. I would ask your pediatrician, but my hunch is that it's totally fine and he'll outgrow it. I was "pigeon toed" until I was 5 or 6 and then I just quit doing it. My pediatrician told my parents it's about leg muscles, alignment, etc. Our pediatrician told us that it is common, but didn't say to what age it's considered okay. But I bet he'll grow out of it. My son is 2 and still walks with his toes turned in a little, especially when he's tired. I would also say that my son has gotten MORE clumsy rather than less as he approcahed his 2nd birthday. I think because they can do more they suddenly trip over their own feet more... Best to you! :)

  3. As moms I think we have the right to be parranoid if we think something is wrong with our children! Even though i know I drive my husband crazy when I am! I would definitly talk about it with your pediatrician tell him your really concernd and ask alot of questions. that always helps me :)

  4. Have you asked your doctor yet? I'd start there.

  5. I asked today and Dr said that it was only a concern if it continued after the age of 3.

  6. My son's does the same thing! I actually hadn't realized until he broke his ankle (long story!) and he now walks with it in. The doctor says he is pigeon toed and will grow out of it. My husband and BIL were too!
